Ben-too
UX / Product

"Ben-too" is a combination of Japanese culture lunch box "Bento" and Chinese culture puzzle "Tangram".
"Ben-too" allows easier food sharing when you go on a trip with people since all the parts are connected by magnets and can be separated. When you want to share your food with someone on the trip, some parts of "Ben-too" can be divided to smaller Japanese "bento", otherwise a personal lunchbox.

Process
The International Summer Design Workshop (ISDW)

The 6th International Summer Design Workshop (ISDW) was held in Hakodate, Japan for 11 days by five universities of design (Singapore, China, Korea and Japan). The theme of the workshop was to design UX of trip.
1. Becoming users / KJ method

First, we actually went on a trip as a user and recorded the experience. After that, we analyzed the experience by using the KJ method and focused cultural differences and similarities observed at the trip.
2. TTS method

Step1: Opinions

Step2: Experience

Step3: Ideas
After using the KJ method, we thought "sharing" is important on a trip. We used the TTS method that is a 5 step thinking process. It allows us to share our (1)opinions, (2)experiences, (3)ideas, (4)similar products and (5)emotions in the team.
3. Product Idea Sketching

We thought and drew ideas of products to share food on a trip.
4. Brushing up idea / Final Presentation

Logo Design

Logo: The logo focused the word "too" that suggests sharing.
The alphabet "t" is represented by a hand gesture and "o" is represented by our product.
We presented the concept, the product and the experience as a result on the final day.
